Bit by Dog

Erin Dickinson, 7 years old, of Reading PA, uses her hand to depict the mouth of the pit bull in her Reading Hospital room. She had injuries to her thigh and elbow, but most of it was on the right side of her face. She is showing with her hand that the pit bull bit her face.
i feel really bad for that girl but i also understand the pit bull. maybe he was just having a bad day or something. i can personally say as a pit bull owner that they are extremely sweet dogs. if they are mean for any reason it is because they have been trained to do so or they they have been abused. i believe pit bulls are the most misunderstood breed of dog around. my pit bull doesnt have a single mean bone in his body. if some buttmunch tried to train him to be a fighting dog the most he could be is a bait dog…i mean he doesnt even defend himself in a fight….i hope that little girl is ok and her wounds are healing well, but i do hope im not the only person out there who believes there is hope for pit bulls
I think pit bulls are amazing dogs too I agree with u 110 %my pit bull is an angle when ppl ask my family what kind of dog it was we would say a pit bull and they wouldnt believe us
well i agree with u because i hav a piitbull and he is a puppie and puppies all bit and he is scarred to bitt me and now that he is is bigger he never bitts but its true they would have to be traind to kill or atack cus my baby isnt lik that. in no way he would hurt some one bt he did atack a bergler that tryed geting in r house but did realy small bitss just small dotts. soo he basicly was watching over us.soo i really feel bad for that girl and this was probably long ago but still. hopefully people dont think that pit hbulls vare harmfull dogs cus they are one of the most sweetes dogs i have ever had. a think that a chihuaha is more agresive that a pit bull cus i have a pitt bull and 2 chihuahas and they atack my pitbull so that is my opinion.

having a bad day? are you kidding me? look at her! that breed of dog should slowly be phased out by making importation, breeding, and owning the dog unlawful and punishable by large fines or jail time if it attacks someone
i have raised pits my whole life. throughout the years there has been over 6 beautiful dogs i’ve had the honor of having a part of the family. each one with a caracter all its own. i have an 11 year old daughter who would ride, sleep, swim, play, everything in the world you could think of, she has done w/these dogs. they are dangerous if their trained that way or abused. i once gave one up, through time he ended up in the wrong conditions, & i got him back. 2 years time, the damage had been done. now w/that said & me the one responcable for his actions, i had to take the propper percausions, he had to be caged. my heart does go out to this little girl, i too hope she doesnt scare. still its on the owners. i feel sorry for the poeple out there wanting them banned, how ignorant. i was bit in the face by a neighbors dog, (no bread needed,thats not the point) they miss treated him so he attacted. its all about the owner.

you arent the only person..many breeds are understood..pitts especially..i have had almost every ”dangerous vicious” breed out there..doberman pinscer,pitts,bull mastiffs,great dane,stafford shire terrior,chow chow,chihuahua, bull dog, and many more..not one of them was vicious..i currently have an adult doberman and 7 wk purebred pitt..neither one is mean..they are just protective…its the OWNER NOT THE DOG!!!i dont know how many people have said this…hate the deed not the breed…i am a very small female and none of these dogs ever even tried to take advantage of me or attack or anything..only once when someone tried to attack me at night on the streets when i was walking my dog…they protected me..they never bit the guy they just scared him off bc of their breed…if anyone ever gets a bully breed please egt it when they are a puppy..if you get an adult you dont know how they were raised and treated..this is the reason pitts are outcasted..because people beat the crap out of them to make them fight back and eventually an attack dog..
the owner needs to be prosicuted not the dog!
The dog is not the problem. It is the owner who should no own a dog, let alone a powerful breed like a pit bull. Most likely the moron got the dog to look tuff and trained it to be mean. I have never met a pit bull that was bad. I own a pit bull. He is the sweetest smartest dog ever.
I have been around pit bulls most of my life, and they are some of the most loving and calm dogs I have ever known. The ones that are mean, have been made that way. I feel sorry for this little girl, I have two girls myself. But if you want to go after something, go after the people mistreat these dogs, make them mean, fight them, and give them a bad reputation.

kayla seriously? the pitbull was having a bad day? i am also the owner of a pitbull and understand that they can be extremely sweet dogs! but to say that that this one might be having a bad day is just ridiculous! what about this little girls face! she will have scars for the rest of her life! these dogs can just flip. it is the way that they are bred and also the way they are raised. and kayla you just sound like a child….buttmunch? really?

When I grew-up in the 60′s the pit was this mythical fighting dog you heard about but never saw. Then in the 80′s it became cool to own one because of their reputation as bad-asses. They didn’t get that rep. for nothing and this little girl is proof.Every time this happens pit owners act shocked and tell us how wonderful these killers really are.Reminds me of people who leave guns laying around then someone is killed & it’s “guns don’t kill people do” Idiots . Plane & simple.
What i do not realize is actually how you are no longer really a lot more well-liked than you may be now. You are very intelligent. You realize therefore considerably in the case of this subject, produced me for my part imagine it from a lot of numerous angles. Pitbulls are very misunderstood. I think they are the best family dog if treated correctly.
Pitbulls are the best children’s dog that you can find. So that girl had everything she got coming. She deserved it.
I own a pit but its the owners stupidity for not training it correctly because if my dog ever bites me I may have to either sell it or put it down. But I mean seriously who trains a dog to do that just to look cool.
i have two babys and i have a pitt and 2 rotts that love my sons. we can be playing mean like and as soon as my son walks up he is 19 months old. tazz my pit will stop playing. and i can not get him to play back my littel dog is meaner thin my rotts and my pitts
When you have to guess if a dog was “raised right” the breed should be illegal! THESE PITBULL OWNER COMMENTS MAKE ME SICK! The dog almost killed a little girl. KILL THE DAMN DOG, AND PUNISH THE OWNER WHO LET THIS HAPPEN. How about this? All the dumb and ignorant pitbull owners, who could care less about the public’s safety (or their own daughters) can all go live on an island. Them, and their good for nothing except killing pitbulls can tear each other to shreds. I hope all you pitbull owners get your faces ripped off by your beloved breed in hell.
